PROFESSION WEDDING PLANNER

Everyone thinks that Wedding Planning is an easy profession, without too many responsibilities but in reality, there is nothing further from the truth. Wedding Planners are real professionals in organizing events and must have a series of fundamental skills if they want to survive in the world of work:

A GOOD REPUTATION

Some say we shouldn’t judge the book by its cover, but many of us really do it.  For a wedding planner, this is actually a good thing.  People will judge you from the first minute you meet them, following their ideas on how a wedding planner should be: clean, organized, knowledgeable and business savvy.

PROFESSIONALISM

There is a really big difference between “looking like a professional” and “being a professional”. In your case, both are equally important.  As in many other professions, you must bring the professional image into your everyday life.  A wedding planner is not like a police officer or a firefighter who is easily recognized for his work in uniform.  You don’t have a uniform, but the way you interact with people can and must determine who you are.

ORGANIZATION

In moments when you have many marriages to think about, without an organizational system with which you can prioritize the nearest event without neglecting others, you risk a disaster of epic proportions. One of the easiest ways to do this is to have a calendar, even a digital one, created specifically with all your responsibilities. Let’s not forget that it is possible to store data in the cloud, making it easily accessible anywhere and to all the collaborators of the case.

A MARKETING STRATEGY AND NETWORKING

The best marketing strategy is low on costs but high on returns. There are websites and social media where you can post your profiles or create a professional business image.  If your wedding planning activity works on special niches like destination weddings, ecological weddings, ethnic events, etc., advertise blogs that meet your target markets.

Investing time and money in marketing is necessary, but building good relationships with other wedding planners and suppliers in your area is perhaps even more important. Acting as a link between professional service associations and event organizers can provide an easier way to learn more about locations, catering, photographers and other professionals related to your field.
