The famous Venetian building “Venice customs” (or “Dogana Veneta”, in Italian) is located in the ancient port of Lazise at Lake Garda. In the Middle Ages, it represented the border between Lombardy and the Republic of Venice. In the 16th century, the building was used as a powder factory. In the first half of the 16th century, the merchant ships of Lombardy and the Republic of Venice sailed under the arches of this customs office. Here, too, the Venetian Arsenal shipyard once was located. And in 2003, the building was renovated preserving the original beauty and authenticity of the historical image, thus giving it a new life.
