Who doesn’t like a wedding dress with an endless train? It’s pretty much the dream of every bride, except when gallons and gallons of water start pouring from the sky. Any solution? A hoop-skirts and petticoats, so that the train and other huge parts can be hidden easily (and they even work wonders if you want to dance your heart out at your reception).
If you are afraid that the rain might ruin your make-up completely, talk to your make-up artist and have them prepare you an emergency kit. With a little planning your make-up artist will be able to give you a small kit that will allow you to make the necessary retouches during the day.
Let’s be serious, shoes are so important for every bride that the thought of a beautiful high heel covered in mud makes us want to cry. A solution could be to have a pair of nice rain boots for all transfers from one indoor place to another: they will keep you dry and give your look a touch of lightness and irony.
Of course, the best way to dominate the weather is to plan ahead and make sure you have alternative locations for the ceremony, reception, and photos. Remember also that very often, with the rain there is also a drop in temperatures and a shivering bride never looks good. So make sure you have a fur or shawl at hand, and you’ll be warm and dry all day.
You may have planned the wedding day to a tee but you can’t control the weather. If it rains, don’t get panic attacks but instead just smile. Take your umbrella on one hand, your partner with the other and celebrate the fact that you’re about to get married because, let’s face it, nothing else really matters.
