\nVenice can be a small city, no doubts about that, but it is almost impossible to be left without things to see and do. In addition to having an incredible number of galleries and museums (including a permanent exhibition in Dali), Piazza San Marco alone deserves at least half a day.<\/span>
\nSurely you will notice that the shops around the square are full of beautiful glass artistry: if you visit the quiet island of Murano, you will be overwhelmed by the art of the glass blowers who work there. Burano, on the other hand, is regarded for its lace and its brightly colored houses.<\/span>
\nEvery single one of the main bridges that cross Canal Grande offers breathtaking sights, and by far the greatest pleasure that can be experienced in Venice is to buy a vaporetto ticket from one end of Canal Grande and sit while sailing gently towards another end, admiring the breathtaking scenery. Just be careful not to drop your camera into the water.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nVenice is a mostly daytime city: restaurants and bars tend to close rather early. But if you want a taste of the local nightlife, go to Campo Santa Margherita, the student district. The area is cheaper than the most touristic areas of Venice, and you should definitely try a traditional Venetian Spritz – a bright orange drink with a fresh and sparkling taste.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nSignage in Venice is notoriously bad so you could end up passing by the same mask shop 15 times while trying to find your hotel. Let the city guide you: Venice is one of the safest cities in Europe, so enjoy exploring corners of the city that you would never have seen if you weren’t lost in the first place.
